What are the session weeks? Originally we tried to get every week in June, but because of the constraints of the school, we were allotted the first 2 weeks in June. There are only 2 sessions of VBC
What is the time of the camp? Camp will start promptly at 10 AM and go until 3 PM
What about lunch? Students are encouraged to bring a sack lunch. We will eat together.
What will we learn in VBC? Beginning students will learn the basics of rule of thirds, shot composition, and introduction to editing. Advanced students that know Final Cut Pro will learn advanced editing techniques.
Will the students produce a video? Yes. All students will work together to produce a professional quality video and learn how to compress their video to upload to Youtube, Vimeo, or other social media sites.
Will we have to bring our own cameras? The short answer is no, however, we encourage you to use your own camera as we will teach you how to effectively shoot video on YOUR camera. We will also cover how to get GREAT quality video using your iPhone, iPod, or iPad!
What happens to those taking two sessions? For the student taking both sessions, we will work one on one to cover advanced shooting and editing techniques as well as introduction to audio, sound, and microphones.
What if we have no experience at all? Do not worry, this camp is designed to quickly and effectively teach you how to shoot and edit GREAT quality video.
Is this camp open to students who are not at AHS? YES! We have sent fliers to many of the middle schools in the North Fulton area.
Where will the camp be? The camp will be in Room 1140 (the AHS video studio).
What kind of equipment does the studio have? The studio has a main learning area with a surround sound theatre, 8 edit bays each featuring Final Cut Pro, a "greenscreen studio", professional lav mics, professional studio lighting and an instructor with over 17 years of professional video production experience.
